Implications of Information security, business continuity issues on the safety of the food supply chain is getting more and more attention.

Whether disruption in the food supply chain from wars and other conflicts, or whether the description stem from a ransomware attack on a food processor, a grocery store, a restaurant, a warehouse  --- we need to be prepared.

No, organization is “immune” from cyber-attacks, and ISO standards are not preventing cyber-attacks, but they will help to mediate the impact and may reduce the duration of the disruption.

While regulation differ from country to country, there is a need to have a solid Governance structure.

At the end of the presentation, participants will have:

  • A greater awareness that as Food and Agriculture are part of critical infrastructure, producers are a target for cyber attacks

Willy has a MSc in Computer Science. For more than 25 years, Willy has held management positions with organizations in the private sectors.  His experience the Management Systems goes back to 1994 when he implemented an ISO 9002:1994 QMS at a Stamping Facility in Germany which got certified in less than 12 months. Willy has conducted several thousands of audits to a variety of standards: ISO 9001, ISO 27001, CSA-STAR, ISO 27701, ISO 22301 and has audited multiple fortune 100 organizations to these standards.  Willy has worked for several global Certifications Bodies and delivered audits in APEC, Africa, Europe and the Americas. He also gave presentations and spoke at serval global events. Willy is also representing the IIOC at several ISO committees related Information Security. Willy joined SGS as the Global Head for Strategy and Business Development - Information Security Assurance in 2021.
