A Message from the Publisher

Dear Food Safety Professional:

We are in a transformational moment in the food safety industry. Our industry has evolved well beyond its roots in HACCP compliance, took on understanding FSMA and GFSI and is now blazing a new trail toward food safety, beyond compliance.

According to my long time friend Mark Carter, "Regulatory compliance should be the bare minimum of your food safety program." Making food safety a journey not a destination with a consistent evolution in best practices and technology moves food safety from a cost center to a profit center.

The Consortium debuted 6 years ago to help you increase your understanding of FSMA and GFSI and help facilitate the sharing of best practices, and introduce you to new technology and services. That objective has never changed, and this mission has never been more important. That’s where the 2019 Food Safety Consortium Conference & Expo (October 1–3) comes in.

Whether it’s developing the next generation of food safety leaders, understanding how FDA is enforcing FSMA, learning how FDA is developing Third Party Audits and how that will impact you, embracing a data-first mindset, improving traceability, or learning more about cannabis-infused food and beverage regulations, we want to provide solutions to the questions that keep you up at night. Further, we want to provide inspiration and a fun, memorable experience.

This year, we have developed a richer main stage program that’s packed with thought leaders who will discuss topics relevant to every food safety professional, regardless of discipline or title. Don’t worry, we still have the nuts-and-bolts takeaways for practitioners as well!

So long story short, this year’s Food Safety Consortium is one that you can’t afford to miss. If you don’t believe me, check out the program and the exciting group of speakers we’ve already booked at FoodSafetyConsortium.org.

Use the discount code “RICK" by this Friday, August 30 and get $100 off the full conference pass.

Come, join us in Schaumburg. Let's share the journey together.

All the best!
